NEW YORK (Reuters) - Apple Inc’s iPad hit stores on Saturday after months of buildup, igniting excitement and kicking off a critical sales period that will determine if the sleek tablet computer becomes the next blockbuster.

With the excitement around the launch of Apple’s iPad and the growing popularity of other digital devices, the Apple iPad is high in demand. The iPad is designed for using media of all sorts, including games, video, pictures, e-books and magazines.
Technology’s only getting cheaper, too, and more powerful. All of this leads to a lot of speculation by media talking heads. It’s become fairly commonplace to accuse technology of actually making society lazy.

Although, it does seem true to a point as the purpose of technology updates is to cut out dozens of steps for everyday tasks to make life easier. The iPad is an example, with access to roughly 150,000 existing apps, as well as new ones freshly designed for the iPad all to benefit the user for easy, portable access to things.

I think it depends on the individual. The laziness of society does not depend upon whether someone prefers to use older methods of everyday tasks. There’s no inherent laziness that comes with the use of technology. The world is advancing and ever-changing, so the advance in technology is the inevitable.
