Our society is bombarded with sexually explicit images that are all over the internet. This has affected the teen culture. Girls are being heavily influenced by television, radio and internet. Celebrities like Lady Gaga are becoming icons for girls who copy her raunchy moves and dress sense.
‘I’ve got friends on Facebook from primary school who I’ve not seen since I was 12 years old, and they’re posting pictures of their favourite sexual position on Facebook,” Lauren Rosewarne.
Children are being manipulated by the media and marketing, all pushing variations of this message: ”Look sexy, buy lots, then you’ll be popular and happy.”
I dont think there is much that can be done about children being exposed to the media. But I do think that if parents dont monitor what their children watch it can ultimately lead them to acting like the media.
